BREAKING: Mike Pence Has Second Thoughts On Testifying To Jan. 6 House Committee

(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – Former Vice President Mike Pence recently stated that he would mull over the idea of making an appearance before the Democrat-led committee that has been charged with the task of investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 riot that happened at the Capitol building, however, it seems that he’s going back on that statement after having a little time to think over the political ramifications that might come his way for doing so.

According to The Epoch Times, this flies in the face of a comment made by Rep. Liz Cheney, a Wyoming Republican who has become the main representative to the group in the public eye, who said Pence was in talks to offer testimony to the committee.

Pence conducted an interview with the folks at the Washington Times over the weekend where took a much more reserved and cautious tone and went on to describe the committee as being “very partisan.”

“If the committee wanted to extend a formal invitation I would consider it, but we would reflect very carefully on my obligations to preserve the separation of powers and the constitutional framework that I served in,” he went on to say during the interview.

Pence, who formerly served as the governor of Indiana before going on to becoming the vice president, told the news publication that he has “real concerns about the partisan nature of the Jan. 6 committee.”

“By essentially rendering this as a partisan committee that’s operating on a very partisan basis—and at times leaking information and leaking testimony—I think in many respects it has squandered an opportunity to really thoughtfully examine what took place that day and where the failings were,” the former vice president said.

“After leaving the White House, the paths of Pence and his former boss, former President Donald Trump, have diverged. Trump criticized Pence for not objecting to or attempting to delay the certification of the 2020 presidential election on Jan. 6, 2021, while Pence has claimed he didn’t have the power to do so,” the Epoch Times reported.

“If the Vice President [Mike Pence] had ‘absolutely no right’ to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans … are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election?” Trump remarked in a statement put out on Jan. 30 this year.

“Pence’s comments about the panel come as analysts speculate he’s attempting to mount a run for president in 2024, potentially putting him further at odds with Trump. Last month, Pence and Trump held separate rallies in Arizona, with Pence endorsing GOP gubernatorial candidate Karrin Taylor Robson, who was defeated by the Trump-backed Kari Lake during the primary,” the report continued.

Pence has not been doing himself any political favors lately. He recently caught a lot of heat from conservatives on social media for telling fellow Republicans not to be so harsh and critical of the Federal Bureau of Investigation over its raid of the former president’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida two weeks ago.

“The Republican Party is the party of law and order,” Pence went on to say, according to a piece from The Associated Press. “Our party stands with the men and women who stand on the thin blue line at the federal and state and local level.”

Okay, it’s true, the GOP is a party that respects law and order, as the opposite, chaos, is deadly and destructive, making it impossible for human life to flourish. However, that does not mean blindly supporting every law enforcement agency (especially those at the federal level) every time they make a move. We need to be aware of how law enforcement at all levels is behaving in their engagement with society and measure that behavior against the Constitution to ensure that they do not overstep their boundaries.

This is the same procedure we should follow with every part of the government, whether at the local, state, or federal level. We can support these institutions without handing them our absolute loyalty.

  1. Pence, as v.p. could have stopped the certification and he knows it. This aberration is the epitome of a closet communist otherwise known as a RINO. He will say or do whatever it takes to get your vote and like the rest, do his own bidding in the end. He’s already pretty much toast as far as 2024 and if he does participate in this partisan kangaroo court, he’s likely ended any chance of a future career in politics. He is a swamp politician who doesn’t know the meaning of the truth.

  2. Why in the world would any honest American participate in this kangaroo country is beyond me, unless of course you’re a progressive suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome that is .
