(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – According to a report from the folks over at The Western Journal, the Lincoln Memorial was shut down for a few hours on Saturday after a group of college students decided to come along and trash it. Because nothing screams having a good time like destroying public property, right?
Georgetown University held its senior ball Friday evening. Several hundred of the school’s students capped off their evening by getting together at the Lincoln Memorial to watch the sun come up, according to a report from Fox News.
A few students enjoyed a dip in the Reflecting Pool.
When the party was over, the whole monument was littered with broken bottles and spilled wine. Gee, what a way to show respect for such an important American landmark. This perfectly showcases the lack of respect younger generations have for our history and heritage.

The National Park Service then announced the delay in allowing access to the memorial.
“The Lincoln Memorial is closed this morning following a local university graduation celebration that left litter, broken bottles and spilled wine and champagne covering the steps,” the statement said, according to the report from Fox.

The memorial was then reopened around 11 a.m.
“Thanks to our facilities staff for the quick cleanup this morning. The Lincoln Memorial is open. We appreciate your patience,” the park service stated. Many individuals have come out and said the college should pick up the tab for the cost of the cleanup.
Make the university pick up the cost of the clean up if you know for sure which university it is .should have published the name of the university as well and embarrass them

“The sunrise celebration is a tradition at Georgetown, which held its graduation ceremony on Saturday, according to The Washington Post,” the Western Journal reported.
“We are monitoring the concerning and disappointing activity at the Lincoln Memorial,” the college went on to say in a statement.
They then attempted to try and distance themselves from the mess their students left at the memorial.
“While Georgetown is one of several institutions celebrating graduation ceremonies this weekend, we have had no University-sponsored events at or around the Lincoln Memorial. We expect all members of our community to be responsible citizens of our campus and our city and be respectful of the history and institutions of Washington, D.C,” the college statement read.
Unbelievable.
Just think. These kids are now entering the real world. Many of them will be performing important tasks essential to making our society function. If they can’t even clean up after themselves, just imagine how horrible they will be at their jobs?

My mother always believed and held us to the standard, if you are not responsible in the little things, we cannot know that you will be responsible in the important things. Cleaning up after yourselves is a little thing. Lord help us when these graduating students have important things in their hands.
The perfect example of missing parents, If the young are not taught respect growing up they will not have respect when becoming adults. Its too bad the parents cant be located and held responsible for the clean-up and possible damages, They didnt teach their BRATS respect when growing up so it would be really great if they had to pay now.
