Outrageous: Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Charges Against Trump Include Potential Death Penalty

(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – The Biden regime knows Joe Biden will never beat President Trump in a free and fair election. All the tactics they used in 2020 have been exposed so now they’ve got no choice but to try and get Trump thrown in jail.

On Tuesday, partisan Special Counsel Jack Smith took additional steps to try and make that happen, indicting him on charges related to Jan. 6. Of course there was no evidence that Trump “incited” the riot so Smith had to get creative with the charges.

They’re all completely bogus but this is a very serious matter considering one of the charges carries the death sentence. What’s most concerning is that this trial will be held in Washington DC, a place quite hostile to Trump.

Among the charges is 18 U.S.C § 241, “Conspiracy Against Rights,” which includes a penalty of up to 10 years in federal prison. But it adds that if death results from the actions covered under this provision, the offender may be executed:

“If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.”

The left has claimed that multiple police officers died during the Jan. 6 events though it’s a blatant lie — they all died for reasons unrelated to the riot. However, conservative Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt did die that day after being shot inside the Capitol building. Smith alleges the events that transpired were the result of Trump’s claims about the election.

Democrats have even tried to blame Trump for the purported efforts by some protesters to kidnap then-Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Smith could attempt to argue the same.

The other charges levied against Trump carry long prison sentences:

18 U.S.C. § 371 – Conspiracy to Defraud the United States – the maximum penalty is five years in prison, though penalties can be less if the conspiracy is to commit a misdemeanor; in that case, the punishment cannot be greater than the greatest for that crime.

18 U.S.C. § 1512 (k) – Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding – this statute, crafted originally to punish witness tampering, has a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison for anyone who “obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding.”

18 U.S.C. § 1512 (c) – Obstruction of and Attempt to Obstruct an Official Proceeding – this likewise carries up to 20 years in prison.

Out of all the indictments this one just might be the most concerning given the venue the trial will be held in. There is virtually no chance the jury will be partial and unbiased. Just like the charges themselves, the jurors will very likely be politically motivated.

Should Trump be convicted on all four charges and receive the maximum non-lethal penalty, he could be imprisoned for 55 years. That’s on top of the possible 460 years in prison for the “documents” case that Smith has also brought against him in Miami. Trump could potentially be sentenced to over 500 years in federal prison.

What a sham. These people are utterly maniacal.
